But I think we can expect the official pictures of the X1 to be officially released any time now, as a whole raft of images has leaked out from BMW. The joys of the Interweb! The BMW X1 is actually a half-decent looking SUV/SAV.

Not long now until we see the new Jaguar XJ for real. The new 2010 XJ will be revealed at an event in London on 9 July 2009 and Jag promises that these videos are the last drip-feed teaser releases before the unveiling proper. Watch our video with Jaguar engineering bigwig Mike Cross talking about the dynamics of the new XJ.

With the new Vauxhall Astra starting to be pushed by Vauxhall ahead of its official launch at Frankfurt in September, thoughts are now turning to what derivatives of the new Astra are to come. Vauxhall are already committed to the three door hatchback and the estate as the follow up after the launch, but an obvious contender is an open-topped Astra. And if these renderings are to be believed it will be a bit of a show-stopper.
